Let’s Get To Know The 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander Black Edition

April 8th, 2022 by

Nothing in the Automotive Industry seems to be more polarizing than black wheels. I love them on certain types of vehicles. However, some aren’t fans. Regardless of where you stand on the black wheel debate, one thing is clear, nearly every manufacturer offers them on at least one of their vehicles. Mitsubishi is no exception. In fact, at the time I’m writing this, every vehicle Mitsubishi makes has a trim level that offers black rims. The Mirage and Mirage G4 offer black rims on the Black Edition (BE if you’re nasty.) The Outlander Sport offers black rims on the Limited Edition or LE Trim. We’ve been told that there is a 2022 Black Edition Outlander Sport coming, but at this time, we are not aware of a release date. The stylish new Eclipse Cross offers black rims on the LE trim too. But, what about the top-selling Outlander. Everybody loves it, and it certainly delivers style for days. Are black rims available on the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander? Yes, and they are awesome. The only way you can opt for those solid black 20 inch rims is via the new trim. Like the Mirage and G4, it’s called the Black Edition. It’s so much more than a nice set of rims.

Where does this fit in the line-up?

Before we get into what the Black Edition offers, let’s first discuss where this trim falls into the lineup. As we’ve noted before, Mitsubishi strays away from the norm when it comes to trim level placement. Also, to keep from getting too far off into the weeds, we won’t dive deep into the subvariants. The Black Edition is found above the ES, but below the SE, and then below the SEL Touring too.

So, what does the Black Edition Offer?

At its core, the Black Edition adds a blackout style to the impressive and capable Outlander. It starts with the Black 20-inch rims. This is the signature piece of the Black Edition. These rims look great on any paint color of the Outlander. The large black rims especially stand out on the White Diamond paint. They add a menacing look to the crossover. Though the rims are the star of the Black Edition Outlander, there’s a lot more to discover. On the door handles you’ll discover black covers which add a nice accent to the side of the vehicle. The mirrors on the Black Edition also add a pop of color to the side profile. Around the front, you’ll find a blacked-out grille and a black Outlander badge.

Is it a good value?

Absolutely. Though the Black Edition is closer to the Entry Level side of the time line-up, it has a lot of great features. For instance, the power panoramic moonroof is included with the Black Edition. You’ll also receive a host of safety features, including Blind Spot Warning (BSW) w/ Lane Change Assist (LCA), Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM), with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Automatic Emergency Braking (Rear AEB), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), and Rear Parking Sensors.

Best of all the Mitsubishi Outlander Black Edition starts at only $30,395. With that price, you’ll also receive a 5 Year/60,000 Mile Total Car Warranty and a 10 Year/100,000 Mile Limited Powertrain Warranty. When you purchase it from McClinton Mitsubishi, you’ll also receive a 10 Year/1,000,000 Mile Limited Powertrain Warranty. We also install DotTrak Theft Deterrent on every new Mitsubishi we sell.
